About
Dr. Colby Jones
I am proud to call Lake George home. After growing up here, I pursued my undergraduate degree at Cornell University and earned my veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine before returning to the community I grew up in.
For over 10 years, I have had the privilege of caring for pets in private practice, supporting them through every stage of life—from their very first puppy or kitten visit to times when they needed advanced medical care or surgery. While I value the medical knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my career, what has meant the most to me are the relationships I’ve built with pets and the people who love them.
Over the years, those relationships sometimes led to helping families say goodbye to their beloved companions at home. I ultimately experienced this myself with my own dog. Through these deeply personal moments, I learned how meaningful it is to say goodbye in the comfort of home, where a setting of familiarity can provide a level of peace, dignity, and calm that is often difficult to replicate in a traditional clinic.
These heartfelt experiences led me to found Peaceful Paws, an at-home euthanasia service devoted to supporting families during their pet’s final chapter. My goal is to provide compassionate guidance during difficult moments and to honor the love, joy, and devotion that defined each pet’s life.
In pursuit to provide gentle, respectful, and supportive care for both pets and their families, I trained and became a certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian and a Fear Free Certified Professional.
