What to Expect

Dr. Jones will come to the home at the arranged visit time and take time to get acquainted with you and your companion.  She will then review the procedure and discuss any final thoughts, concerns or questions you may have.

The visit can take place anywhere in your home or outside.  Once the family is ready, a combination of pain medication and a sedative injection will be administered first to ease your pet’s discomforts, prevent any anxiety and put them into a calming sleep. Once asleep and no longer responding to stimulation, euthanasia medication will be given to bring end of life.

Once your pet has passed, a clay paw print can be made and a lock of fur collected for your keeping.

“We can’t say enough about the compassion and professionalism shown by Dr. Jones. Saying goodbye to our beloved dog was incredibly painful, but having the option for in-home euthanasia made all the difference.

Throughout the visit Dr. Jones was calm, gentle, and deeply respectful—not just to our dog, but to us as well. She took the time to explain what we should expect and gave us the space we needed to say goodbye in our own way.

Our dog was able to pass peacefully in a familiar, comfortable environment, surrounded by love. That is a gift we will always be grateful for.

We wholeheartedly recommend Peaceful Paws and Dr. Jones. Her kindness and empathy truly helped us through a difficult time.”
